Caesars Palace Vs. Circus Circus

Took a trip last week with Buzzy to SF.  Loads of fun.  Thanks Buzzy for the time behind the wheel and thanks to Charlie, Mary and Stretch for putting us up!  Sorry we missed you Lee :(

Yep tastes like pennies

Live it up while you can!

Stop using beer and drugs while you dive into buckets on your own time.

Buzzy n' Nelson

Some more shots developed in coffee here. Buzzy and I went on a tour of some of Oregon's finest skateparks yesterday, Molalla and Woodburn. Molalla being the finer of the two. Ultramegawarped and steep trannies probably planned and made by the parks mascot and ultra pro bowler Mr. Nelson. This kid had his sound effects down just like Larvelle Jones from Police Academy. Everyday Nelson goes bowling, shows up at the skatepark afterward and then indulges in a Meatball sub a Subway. This kid bowled a 234 yesterday (his personal record). Of course we were also entertained by Buzzy's rippingness as well.

Treepersons

This post is for Agent Asian over at Meattortillas blog. I have fond memories listening to this fabulous band with my favorite China Man while driving over Deception Pass heading to Sequim Skatepark. These tunes by Treepeople are nowadays hard to find and should be listened to. For those that don't know, Treepeople features the ever so popular (and rightfully so) Doug Martsch of Built to Spill fame. Agent Asian my apologies for buying that Something Vicious for Tomorrow CD out from under you so many years back. If you have the time check out Agent Asian's blog over at http://meattortillas.blogspot.com/. He does a great job documenting skateboarding in Bellingham where there are tons of rippers true to the sport.
Here are the tracks

Screwdriver in my leg. Pancake Batter

I just watched Hokus Pokus all the way through for the first time in many years. I know that every skater to come out of the late 80's early 90's was affected by this video in one way or another. The skateboarding was fresh and so were the tunes. I think what makes this skate flick so enjoyable is the conceivable trick maneuvers these guys pull off. Creative and within my reach. Not to put down what vids are like now, but much of it is shock value to my brain. Fun to watch, but I am not getting as stoked about massive drops mixed with flipper flops. To sum it up. I am so happy to have started skating when I did.
Heres the video.

Heres the soundtrack

I'm pretty sure that skateboarding was cooler back in the day.

If you went to Asia, this is how you would have to ride.
